I personally avoid doom-and-gloom predictions like the plague. It takes no faith at all to make negative forecasts about the days ahead. We are called believers, therefore it is necessary that we live by faith. If God wanted us to live by sight instead The one who hurries delays the things of God.of by faith, He would have called us facters and not believers. It is my conviction that God’s divine truth overrides man’s finite facts. I am convinced that God has an answer before we ever have a problem. After all, Jesus was crucified before the foundation of the world.

Twelve spies left the wilderness to go inspect the promised land God was giving them.
Ten came back focused on the giants.
Two came back focused on the promise.
Ten died in the wilderness and they only saw the promised land from a spy’s point of view.
Two not only entered it, but helped lead the nation into it.
We are all spies.
We are all looking at a land God is giving us.
We all would love to enter it and live there.
What we focus on will determine what happens.
So…what are you focused on?
What type of spy are you?

God is often on a different timetable than we are. In fact, He doesn’t even live in time. We have a beginning and an end, but God doesn’t. God lives in eternity, and He is able to see the end from the beginning. When He gives us a word, we cannot assume that its fulfillment will take place within twenty-four hours. For example, Jesus said that He was coming quickly, but two thousand years have passed and we are still waiting. Perceived delay does not mean denial.

Our Father may ask us to do something that seems illogical—perhaps to accept more responsibility when we were hoping to reduce our workload, to leave a position that He provided just recently, or to take on an assignment for which we feel ill-equipped. His plan might feel unrealistic in view of our age, stage of life, or health concerns. We must press forward in obedience, regardless of how impractical the request may appear.
