Eternal God, this holy night is radiant with the brilliance of your one true light. May that light illuminate our hearts and shine in our words and deeds. May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by the birth in Bethlehem this night fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do. May we share the divine life of your son Jesus Christ, even as he humbled himself to share our humanity. Amen.

Our religious activities should be ordered in such a way as to have plenty of time for the cultivation of the fruits of solitude and silence.
Charles H. Brent
Peace comes when there is no cloud between us and God. Peace is the consequence of forgiveness, God’s removal of that which obscures His face and so breaks union with Him. The happy sequence culminating in fellowship with God is penitence, pardon, and peace — the first we offer, the second we accept, and the third we inherit.

Very often we equate peace with an absence, be it conflict, trouble, anxiety, stress, or noise. But peace is not a lack or absence. Peace is a presence; the presence of the Prince of Peace, and as such, always available to us, no matter what our circumstances. We choose peace by choosing to join ourselves with the Prince of Peace.
Paul Martini
Whenever a real tangible storm challenges the destiny over your life you have every right to stand up to it and allow His peace to overcome it.
Francois Fenelon
Accustom yourself gradually to carry prayer into all your daily occupation — speak, act, work in peace, as if you were in prayer, as indeed you ought to be.
Jennifer Eivaz
The reason we have a Comforter (Holy Spirit) is because on this side of heaven we will need comfort. Our peace comes from another world and not perfect circumstances.
C. S. Lewis
God made us: invented us as a man invents an engine. A car is made to run on gasoline, and it would not run properly on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
Joyce Meyer
Before Jesus died, He willed us His Peace. But we forfeit His gift through strife. God’s desire for us is that we live in peace with Him, with ourselves and with our fellowman. He wants us to have peace in the midst of our current circumstances–peace in the morning, at night and all times in between. Peace is our inheritance! And it is a wonderful possession.
