Prayer is a choice. For us to pray to give thanks, or to voice our questions and doubts shows that we are choosing to leave an opening in our spirits. Without this opening, there is no vessel, no place into which God can breathe.
Choice
Havilah Cunnington
You get to choose how to react and respond in the situations you face. The way you respond says everything about you, not someone else. No one is powerful enough to pick it for you. It’s your choice. Yes, God is Lord over your life, but it’s your responsibility how you react towards the storms in your life. He may be calling you into something through your convictions.
Kris Vallotton
I have been both a winner and a loser at different seasons of my life. Thankfully, I have always surrounded myself with winners who refuse to allow me to remain a loser for long.
Katherine Walden
Every single day, we make hundreds of choices without being aware of it. Most of those choices, we make automatically, based on the choices we made yesterday and the day before that. We are creatures of habit, so what habits are you forming today and what impact will they have a year from now?
Based on a chapter in my book, Not Always All Together
William Law
If you have not chosen the kingdom of God first, it will in the end make no difference what you have chosen instead.
Pete Scazzero
We make choices to trust God, to wait on God, to obey God, to stick with God, to remain faithful when everything in us wants to quit and run.
Katherine Walden
No one and nothing can rob you of your joy unless you choose to drop that joy and pick up offense, resentment, or bitterness in its place.
C. S. Lewis
Free will is what has made evil possible. Why, then, did God give [creatures] free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having.
C. S. Lewis
You must be asking which door is the true one; not which pleases you best.
Rick Warren
Many of our trouble occur because we base our choices on unreliable authorities; culture (“everyone is doing it”), tradition (“we’ve always done it”), reason (“it seems logical”), or emotion (“it just felt right”).
