I have begun to wonder if the gross empowerment and elevation of personal opinion on social media has really deluded us into thinking that our opinions hold any weight against the Word of God. I wonder if we have been so trained by a democratic, consumer-driven society that we have forgotten that the kingdom of God is not a democracy, but a theocracy. A government in which His Word and His Word alone stands. We must return to our senses and know this: when it comes to the Word of God, the online uproar and outcry of seething, opinionated objections and dissenting votes, has absolutely zero weight. It doesn’t matter. I’m not saying our voice doesn’t matter to God. I’m simply reminding us: Dissenting against His voice is absolute folly.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

A chasm is opening between the men who believe their Bibles and the men who are prepared for an advance upon Scripture. Inspiration and speculation cannot long abide in peace. Compromise there can be none. We cannot hold the inspiration of the Word, and yet reject it; we cannot believe in the atonement and deny it; we cannot hold the doctrine of the fall and yet talk of the evolution of spiritual life from human nature; we cannot recognize the punishment of the impenitent and yet indulge the “larger hope.” One way or the other we must go. Decision is the virtue of the hour.

Your life should be based on the values of knowing God and hearing His voice… Others can confirm what God is saying, but at the foundation, you must have the word of the Lord for yourself, and be God-appointed for your call. The truth is, we NEVER feel qualified. We often think “I can’t do this job.” But when we know we are God-appointed, we become God-anointed. John 15:16: “You did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last.” If you are only self-appointed…, you will seek approval from other people. But when we are God-appointed, Jesus said He would be with us and give us the authority to do everything He has called us to do (Matthew 28:18-20). Walk in the appointing and anointing of God.

It is important that we allow the Bible to speak to us so that when people give us counsel that contradicts truth, we will be able to instantly discern their advice as false. In a world that has become averse to absolutes, we must remember that God’s Word is truth. It is not watered down or out of fashion. We must keep it close to our hearts if we are going to engage self-discipline and be trees planted by streams of water.

You may go through seasons where God seems silent in an area of your life. Don’t let that discourage you. You are not alone. In those hard seasons, remember that your relationship with God is the most important. Keep trusting Him. Keep praying. Keep watching for Him. And remember, God’s Word is Him speaking to us in written form—always available, and never silent.

Smith Wigglesworth

God’s word is-
1. Supernatural in origin;
2. Eternal in duration;
3. Inexpressible in valour;
4. Infinite in scope;
5. Regenerative in power;
6. Infallible in authority;
7. Universal in application;
8. Inspired in totality.
Read it through, write it down; pray it in; work it out; pass it on.
The word of God changes a man until he becomes an Epistle of God.
