Real peace is experienced not because of new circumstances but because of new covenant thinking even when old circumstances remain.
The life of faith, and the instinct of faith are one and the same. It is an enjoyment of the goods of God, and a confidence founded on the expectation of His protection, making everything pleasant and received with a good grace. It is indifference to, and at the same time a preparation for every place, state, or person. Faith is never unhappy even when the senses are most desolate. This lively faith is always in God, always in His action above contrary appearances by which the senses are darkened. The senses, in terror, suddenly cry to the soul, “Unhappy one! You have now no resource, you are lost,” and instantly faith with a stronger voice answers: “Keep firm, go on, and fear nothing.”
When you begin to understand that WHERE you are right now doesn’t define WHO you are, or WHOSE you are, you’ll understand that each moment in your life is a stepping stone that will lead you to your destiny. Everything that happens in your life is a blessing and a lesson. It may not seem like a blessing at the moment, but when you progress in life and you look back at where you were, you will see God’s hand lead you right to the place you needed.
Total surrender will bring about a depth of peace and relationship with God we can’t get any other way. It all stems from living out Deuteronomy 6:5, loving God “with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Nothing in life is certain. Circumstances roll in and out like the ocean’s tide. And the unknown can sometimes seem so frightening. We can’t stop or control things that roll our way any more than we can stop the water’s edge. But we can make the minute-by-minute choice to let our souls rest in God… We don’t have to understand; we just have to trust.
if we ground ourselves in the reality that we trust God, we can face circumstances that are out of our control without acting out of control. We can’t always fix our circumstances, but we can fix our minds on God. We can do that.
Circumstances may appear to wreck our lives and God’s plans, but God is not helpless among the ruins. God’s love is still working. He comes in and takes the calamity and uses it victoriously, working out His wonderful plan of love.

Perhaps you began to question God’s love or His wisdom. Maybe you were afraid to say that He was wrong, but you sort of said, “God, you deceived me in letting me believe that this was the right thing to do. Why didn’t you stop me?” A whole lot of wrong things can happen if you try to look at God from the middle of circumstances.
When we choose to forgive the victory is attainable. When bad things happen, good CAN come out of it! Romans 8:28 declares it is so! My life declares it is so and I am not alone in that statement. So many people have looked evil in the face and said, “I will find good in this.” Sometimes the evil and bad things are changed or converted or whatever and sometimes it is us that is changed. But ALL things work for good and can bring about change for the good.
