One reason we are so harried and hurried is that we make yesterday and tomorrow our business, when all that legitimately concerns us is today. If we really have too much to do, there are some items on the agenda which God did not put there. Let us submit the list to Him and ask Him to indicate which items we must delete. There is always time to do the will of God. If we are too busy to do that, we are too busy.
if we ground ourselves in the reality that we trust God, we can face circumstances that are out of our control without acting out of control. We can’t always fix our circumstances, but we can fix our minds on God. We can do that.
In all honesty, I cannot say that ‘things just kept piling up’. I have yet to see a piece of paper wander over and drape itself upon another piece of paper on my coffee table. I have yet to see a dirty sock jump out of my laundry hamper and lead a rebellious march across the room. If the truth were told, things just don’t pile up — I just pile up things.
