Do you want to look for my fullness?
Do you want to partner with me?
Do you want to count for my kingdom?
Do you want to see miracles and stand for justice?
Do you want to see reconciliation and people set free?
Do you want to see nations transformed by the power of prayer?
Then come follow me, and I will show you where to go.
It’s not to the platform and the spot-lit speaker.
It’s not to the conference, the meeting or the camp.
Come with me to the darkest places.
Come to the hurting, the howling, hollow faces.
Come with me to the addicted, convicted and caught.
Come with your light, run with your salt.
Come to the sorrow; the suicide tree.
Come to the stable—Come follow me.

A father and his young daughter were great friends and much in each other’s company. Then the father noted a change in his daughter. If he went for a walk, she excused herself from going. He grieved about it, but could not understand. When his birthday came, she presented him with a pair of exquisitely worked slippers, saying, I have made them for you.” Then he understood what had been the matter for the past three months, and he said. “My darling, I like these slippers very much, but next time, buy the slippers and let me have you all the days. I would rather have my child than anything she can make for me.” Some of us are so busy for the Lord that He cannot get much of us. To us, He would say, “I know your works, your labour, your patience, but I miss the first Love.”

Today, we have people traveling the entire world, looking for the key to true greatness. We have life coaches, online courses, seminars and universities all promising to “change your life” and give you the secret to success. Many of these things are good, and certainly some of them can help you grow. But God’s one-liner makes it clear and straightforward: Meditate on His Word, and then do it!

As you observe is going on in your community and nation, it’s easy to become frustrated or even angry. Does our love for our fellow brothers and sisters (regardless of race, colour, sex, or creed) rise to the top and overtake our emotions? Love is a choice and I choose Love! 1 Corinthians 13. Is this love demonstrated through you to your community, city, state, nation, and world just as much (if not more!) and not just toward your church and personal relationships? [paraphrased]

Matt Chandler

This tilting-the-scales stuff is based on the very unbiblical idea that good little boys and girls are the ones who go to heaven. In reality, it’s bad little boys and girls transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ who go to heaven—those whose sins are covered by His redeeming work, and who love Him so much because of it, they live now to flesh out these new desires He’s placed within them as a way of expressing their willing worship. Not to buy their way inside, but to celebrate being inside. Because we can never be redeemed by religion.
