The enemy uses condemnation to keep us from serving God. As the Lord is molding you and refining you, remain willing to be used of Him even during the process. Refuse to back down to the voice of condemnation and accusation. If your heart is that God do His will in your life, you have no reason to pull back. Be available and be willing! I mean it! Yes. I am talking to you. In the doing, the taking steps of faith and allowing Hiim to use you, you will find you are being strengthened and molded into the image of Christ.

Death to self isn’t to be confused with the death of self. Jesus does not condone self-hatred. If anything, Jesus elevates our worth beyond what we could ever claim or measure! But self-denial and self rejection are two different things. An example of self-rejection would be, “I’m disgusting and worthless.” An example of death to self would be, I deeply want to fight back with my words but I recognize that I don’t have to follow that instinct anymore.” It’s letting go of a lesser life in order to let your new life in Christ to emerge.

Insecurity, loneliness, frustration, self-hatred, anger, or the like—that goes unchecked will eventually grow into something massive. It may not be today or tomorrow, but it’s much like a sliver under your skin. Left unattended, that sliver will begin to fester and grow an infection until it’s so painful that you don’t want anyone to touch it. But until you remove the sliver, the infection will continue to grow.
