The revelation of what Jesus did for us at the cross launches us into His joy, and His joy is the secret weapon of every believer. By serving Him with joy and gladness of heart, the joy that is in Him shields us from the enemy’s fiery darts of sorrow and depression. This joy not only strengthens us, it also gives us courage, making us bold and brave.
Cross of Jesus
H.A. Baker
Christ finished salvation. He died for the sins of the whole world. Eternal life is a gift… The gift is free; all we have to do is accept it or reject it, take it or ignore it. We must be like one or the other of the thieves on the cross: either believe that Jesus is God and can save a sinner who acknowledges his sinful condition, and spend eternity with Christ in paradise, or be like the other thief and disbelieve that Jesus is God, and die in our unrepented and unforgiven sins, away from God.

Jesus knew the agony of the Cross that He was about to face. He counted the cost and willingly became the ultimate sacrifice for us. The joy of restoring humanity to a right relationship with God was more significant than the pain and suffering He was going to face. You were worth the ultimate sacrifice!

In the shadow of my hurt, forgiveness feel like a decision to reward my enemy. But in the shadow of the cross, forgiveness is merely a gift from one undeserving soul to another.
Sarah Coleman
The Cross is a great contradiction. A simple upright post with a transverse bar used crucifixion. It’s a symbol of death, but so much more. Death and life, hate and love, violence and peace, accusation and forgiveness, sin and purity, brokenness and wholeness, all is lost yet everything is gained, destruction and restoration, defeat and victory.
