Isn't is amazing that almost everyone has an opinion to offer about the Bible, and yet so few have studied it?
Ed Silvoso
Today, we seem to lead not so much with power but with wisdom, which in many cases is not so much wisdom as human knowledge or doctrine. And in the worst cases, it is nothing more than hollow, "feel good" motivational talk. This leads people to have a positive opinion about Jesus but not a life-changing conviction. An opinion is what we think about something and is subject to revision. A conviction is what determines our behavior.
Oswald Chambers
Can Jesus Christ see the agony of His soul in us? He can't unless we are so closely identified with Him that we have His view concerning the people for whom we pray. May we learn to intercede so wholeheartedly that Jesus Christ will be completely and overwhelmingly satisfied with us as intercessors.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
When we preach Christ crucified, we have no reason to stammer, or stutter, or hesitate, or apologize; there is nothing in the gospel of which we have any reason to be ashamed. If a minister is not sure about his message, let him keep quiet until he is sure about it; but we believe, and therefore we speak with conviction.
Francis Frangipane
More churches have been destroyed by the accuser of the brethren and its faultfinding than by either immorality or misuse of church funds. So prevalent is this influence in our society that, among many, faultfinding has been elevated to the status of a "ministry"!

Real joy comes when we get the right desire met - the desire for God himself, for a life led by the Spirit, fulfilling not our material desires but our deepest need, which is to be in a close relationship with our Creator. That is the source of true blessing. The only source.
Judy Booth
The Lord is my peace. I shall not live in anxiety. He puts me under his wing of comfort and calms my spirit within me. He takes all my anxieties on Himself and helps me to focus on Him. Yes, though I walk through a time of grave uncertainties and fierce anxieties, I will not fret-for You are my peace. Your Word and Your presence calm me now. You hold my uncertainties in the palm of Your hand. You soothe my anxious mind-You smooth my wrinkled brow. Surely serenity and trust in You shall fill me all the days of my life. And I shall keep my mind stayed on You forever.

One of the most difficult and challenging responsibilities of a Christian is holding his brothers and sisters in Christ accountable. God has not left us here as lone rangers, but He has given us a family to support and strengthen us. It is often impossible for us to be built up in our walk with Christ, until the rubble of sin and disobedience has been cleared away. As a family, we must aid each other not only in the building, but also in clearing the rubble.
Augustine
I have read Plato and Cicero sayings that are very wise and beautiful; but I never read in either of them: "Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give thee rest."

Trusting God's grace means trusting God's love for us rather than our love for God. […] Therefore our prayers should consist mainly of rousing our awareness of God's love for us rather than trying to rouse God's awareness of our love for him, like the priests of Baal on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:26-29).
