If you need a crowd, a platform, a title or a mic in order to minister:
You might only be a performer, not a prophet.
You might only be a professional, not a pastor.
If you stop for the one, welcome to the ministry.
The more you manifest a servant’s heart in all you do, the more of an impact you’ll have on people’s lives.
You have no authority where you have no love.
When Jesus came in the form of a servant, he was not disguising who God is. He was revealing who God is.
We don’t serve God to gain His acceptance; we are accepted so we serve God. We don’t follow Him in order to be loved; we are loved so we follow Him.
Think about the way God rules. He doesn’t do it by sending in the tanks. He does it by calling servants.
The revelation of royalty has to be married to servanthood
The very first thing which needs to be said about Christian ministers of all kinds is that they are “under” people as their servants rather than “over” them (as their leaders, let alone their lords). Jesus made this absolutely plain. he chief characteristic of Christian leaders, he insisted, is humility not authority, and gentleness not power.
We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.
