He comes to us in the brokenness of our health, in the shipwreck of our family lives, in the loss of all possible peace of mind, even in the very thick of our sins. He saves us in our disasters, not from them. He emphatically does not promise to meet only the odd winner of the self-improvement lottery.
Redemption
Ernest Salmond
There is doubt, fear, anger, frustration, confusion about all that is going on. Trying to figure out what is true what is false, who is lying and who isn’t. I think we can all agree it is a mess. Have you ever been in a barn this time of year, it is always a mess, you know what I mean. Yet it was in a barn that God chose to have His Son born, right in the middle of that mess. The world of Jesus’s day was a mess just like ours is today and yet Jesus stepped right into the middle of it. He came to bring hope, peace, love, forgiveness, redemption, He came to be a light in the darkness.

Yes, Jesus hung out with prostitutes and drunkards and outcasts.
Here’s the thing, though – by the time Jesus was finished with these people, they weren’t prostitutes or drunkards or outcasts anymore.
Jesus came to transform people, not indulge them. Christianity is about surrender, not comfort. We are to align ourselves with his standard, not the other way around.

God is an expert at redeeming our past mistakes to propel us in our destiny. The very things the enemy would use to disqualify you, God can use to display His grace in your life. In the story of Jonah, we have an unsuccessful prophet who runs in the opposite direction of the calling on his life. Despite his rebellion, God had already made supply and set in motion a master plan to get him back on track. The city of Ninevah heard of this fantastic fish journey that this rebellious prophet of God took, and the whole city repented and was saved. Gods grace turned Jonah’s mistake into a whole city being saved. What mistakes in your life is God redeeming and making into a fantastic and beautiful story of grace?

The Gospel is not a new law. It is not a code of morals or ethics. It is not a creed to be accepted. It is not a system of religion to be adhered to. It is the good news that God will forgive and accept any person who trusts His provision of the crucified and risen Christ as the answer to their rebellion and sin.
Paul Tripp
We must not offer people a system of redemption, a set of insights and principles. We offer people a Redeemer.
Nancy Pearcey
Redemption consists primarily of casting out our mental idols and turning back to the true God. And when we do that, we will experience His transforming power renewing every aspect of our lives. To talk of a Christian Worldview is simply another way of saying that when we are redeemed, our entire outlook on life is re-centered on God and rebuilt on His revealed truth.
Francis Frangipane
Heaven did not authorize the heartache of [a terrorist act in 2012] but Heaven is redeeming it. This act of extreme evil, the last act of a joyless, embittered soul, now in the hands of Christ, the Redeemer, is being used to restore love to families and friends in sober reflection. Christ has reset the focus of millions. Perhaps for you, too, it is time to bring your heartache, failures and brokenness to the Lord of Life. Let Him restore and refocus your heart upon the values that truly matter. Accept His gift of salvation.

He is intangible and invisible. But His work is more powerful than the most ferocious wind. The Spirit brings order out of chaos and beauty out of ugliness. He can transform a sin-blistered man into a paragon of virtue. The Spirit changes people. The Author of life is also the Transformer of life.
Fred Rogers
There’s a part of all of us that longs to know that even what’s weakest about us is still redeemable and can ultimately count for something good.
