The greatest transmission of God's power takes place through the believer's prayers and intercessions. Believing prayer is unquestionably the means by which God, in the quickest way, would be able to give to the world those saving powers from the realm of eternity which are necessary before Christ can return and the millennium be ushered in. Sometimes, what appears to be over-qualification in ministry is actually a state of being bound to what we already know at the expense of our need to learn something new from the Lord. Putting it another way, what we know can keep us from what we need to know if we don’t maintain the attitude of a novice, staying open and teachable.
Sin and disease are evil, definite evil, not imperfect good; they do not call for improvement, they call for destruction.
God has not abdicated His throne. He will not forever tolerate man's inhumanity to man. He sees. He knows, He understands--and He still reigns. Whatever has happened this day, whatever will happen tomorrow, He is still in control. Nothing escapes His watchful eye and He promises to hear the prayers of His children. Let us look to the Lord, Who IS our help and our refuge in the time of storm. And while we pray for those who sorrow, let us also pray for those who hate, may God save their never-dying souls.
By giving us control, our new technologies tend to enhance existing idols in our lives. Instead of becoming more like Christ through the forming and shaping influence of the church community, we form, and shape, and personalize our community to make it more like us. We take control of things that are not ours to control. Could it be that our desire for control is short-circuiting the process of change and transformation God wants us to experience through the mess of real world, flesh and blood, face-to-face relationships?
Offense never lets you go - you have to let it go.
Our bread is not only the Word of God, our meat is not only to do His will,
our bread is also...the difficulties that are in our way.
